Building technology that amplifies human potential
At Monta Vista High School, I explore the intersection of software engineering, robotics, and classical music, building technologies that unite technical innovation with creativity and human connection.
About Me
Hi, I'm Angela.
I am currently a senior at Monta Vista High School in Cupertino, California. Driven by a passion for STEM, software engineering, and classical violin, I design and build end-to-end technology solutions that address real-world challenges.
My academic journey reflects an interdisciplinary approach that combines the analytical rigor of computer science and AP Physics with the expressive precision of classical violin performance through organizations such as American String Teachers Association (ASTA) and California Philharmonic Youth Orchestra (CPYO). From developing full-stack financial automation platforms to programming autonomous VEX robotics systems in C++, I enjoy transforming complex ideas into impactful, functional technologies.
Areas of Passion & Toolkit
Selected Projects
MVMB Payment Reminder
Developed and deployed a full-stack financial automation platform for the Monta Vista Music Boosters, enabling administrators to manage billing workflows and automatically send payment reminders to families. Engineered the system using Python, SQL, and a custom web interface, transforming a previously manual process into a scalable community tool, hosted at https://mvmb-finance.inhouses.net.
LightWAN Resume Parser
Led a team of two high school interns at LightWAN Tech under the mentorship of senior software engineers to develop an automated resume parsing platform for technical recruiting. Engineered systems to extract, classify, and organize applicant data from inbound resumes, helping optimize recruiter screening and engineering interview workflows. Learn more about the company at lightwan.com.
VEX V5 Robotics
Led software and mechanical development on a competitive 6โ8 member robotics team. Developed C++ firmware for drivetrain and intake systems, integrated robotic hardware and control logic for competition performance, and mentored junior programmers in embedded systems and robotics engineering.
Special Needs Music Mentorship
Designed and led individualized weekly percussion instruction for autistic and neurodivergent students over two years at Friends of Children with Special Needs (FCSN). Developed adaptive lesson plans tailored to diverse learning needs, directed percussion classes, and performed alongside students at the organizationโs annual fundraising gala.
Leadership & Accolades
Independent Project Lead & Volunteer
Monta Vista Music Boosters โ Cupertino, CA
Designed, developed, and deployed an automated payment reminder system end-to-end using Claude Code, Python, and SQL. Configured a frontend UI for outstanding balance inputs, automatically generating customized email notices. Successfully raised parent collection rates from 75% to 92%, saving dozens of hours of manual administrative overhead.
Software Engineering Intern
LightWAN Tech โ Cupertino, CA
Led a team of two high school interns under the guidance of senior software engineers to build a full-stack resume parsing application. Designed the interface and parser logic to help recruiters efficiently filter candidates and feed LightWAN's internal talent pipeline. Presented the final product at a company-wide all-hands meeting and won the **Chairman's Award for Young Leaders**.
Lead Programmer & Builder
VEX V5 Robotics โ Cupertino, CA
Lead programming and structural mechanical build on a competitive 6โ8 member robotics team. Scripted robot mechanical firmware in C++ and VS Code, assembled main components (drivetrain, intake), and mentored junior members. Qualified for the VEX Robotics Competition State Championships (2023โ2026) and the RobotEvents US Open Robotics Championships (2023โ2025), earning multiple Design, Excellence, and Judges' Awards.
Violinist
Monta Vista Chamber Orchestra โ Cupertino, CA
Accepted into the elite 35-student chamber orchestra, dedicating 4 hours of in-school practice and 3 hours of independent home study weekly. Performed 8 times annually in holiday concerts, school district events, and most notably for the **American String Teachersโ Association (ASTA)** national guidelines demonstration.
UN Program Scholar
New York Times Summer Academy โ New York, NY
Selected for the "Inside the United Nations" academic program with 18 high school students globally. Focused on global politics, diplomacy, and human rights. Attended lectures led by NYT journalists and UN officials, and successfully debated in a Model UN-style simulation on the Sudan humanitarian crisis.
Violinist
California Philharmonic Youth Orchestra
Auditioned and accepted into the regional youth orchestra composed of 50 select student musicians. Attended weekly 3-hour ensemble rehearsals and maintained 5 hours of private practice. Performed 6 public seasonal concerts featuring classical pieces by Beethoven, Mozart, and Elgar.
Competitive Swimmer
De Anza Cupertino Aquatics Club
Competed in a USA Swimming-affiliated swim club with a cohort of ~40 elite swimmers. Dedicated extensive hours to dryland and pool conditioning, representing the club in butterfly and freestyle 50-meter and 100-meter events.
